Our well-being team has expertise spanning emotional and physical health, underscored by evidence-based approaches to meet our colleagues where they are and support their diverse well-being needs.


Jennifer Ferrand, PsyDJennifer Ferrand, PsyD
Well-Being Director

Dr. Jennifer Ferrand, Well-Being Director, is a board-certified clinical health psychologist with 17 years of experience in Hartford HealthCare. She has worked clinically in specialty areas including preventive cardiology, pain management, primary care, and surgical weight loss. She was integral to the development of a health psychology service line at the Institute of Living and is passionate about training and mentorship. She is knowledgeable about the challenges faced by healthcare professionals, and in 2018 helped develop initiatives including a Provider Peer Support Program that contributed to the creation of Hartford HealthCare’s Well-Being Department. As Director of Well-Being, Dr. Ferrand guides the development and deployment of strategic initiatives to advance well-being for all who work in HHC, and leads the team’s research and educational activities. She finds joy in music and the outdoors, and strives to practice and teach a mindful, self-compassionate way of life.

Sarah Jones, LCSWSarah Jones, LCSW
Well-Being Manager

Sarah Jones, Well-Being Manager, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 13 years of experience in the field of behavioral health. She began her clinical career working for the Alabama drug court program before transitioning to working with adjudicated teens in Washington, DC. She has been working in the healthcare setting for the past 8 years and joined Hartford Healthcare in 2017. Most recently, Sarah served as the social work manager for inpatient behavioral health for Hartford Healthcare’s Central Region. During her time in this role, Sarah developed and implemented a number of initiatives to improve the well-being of her colleagues, such as creating standard work for post-assault debriefings, individual and group colleague support sessions, and the Central Region Well-Being Committee. As the well-being manager, Sarah is passionate about ensuring that each and every one of our colleagues’ voices is heard and creating an environment of emotional safety and well-being in the workplace. Sarah believes in the power of vulnerability, laughter, and human connection in all aspects of her life. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, music, movies, and spending time with her husband and six children.

Marissa Sicley-Rogers, PsyDMarissa Sicley-Rogers, PsyD
Well-Being Manager

Dr. Marissa Sicley-Rogers, is a licensed clinical psychologist and has worked with Hartford Healthcare since 2015. She completed her graduate training in clinical psychology at Antioch University New England. At Hartford HealthCare’s Institute of Living (IOL), she completed a predoctoral internship in child and adolescent psychology and a postdoctoral fellowship in both lifespan psychological assessment and suicide prevention-focused group psychotherapy with adolescents. After fellowship, she was hired as the Coordinator of the IOL’s Psychological Testing Service where she provided supervision in psychological assessment to psychology predoctoral practicum students and interns, as well as postdoctoral fellows. She was also a core member of IOL’s Psychology Training and Supervision faculty, where she facilitated a variety of activities pertinent to the development of psychology trainees, including clinical supervision, teaching, consultation, crisis management, and mentorship. Importantly, she has a lifelong passion for and dedication to suicide prevention, and has served as the Operational Lead for Hartford HealthCare Behavioral Health Network’s (BHN) Zero Suicide initiative since 2021. As part of the BHN’s Suicide Postvention team, she has led deployments of support to colleagues in the wake of patient losses to suicide and other serious safety events. As Well-Being Manager, she brings a deep knowledge of behavioral health and experience with teaching and organizational change. In this role, she will be responsible for managing the Well-Being Department’s education and training portfolio in supporting our colleagues and workforce. Dr. Sicley-Rogers greatly enjoys spending quality time with her family, her puppy, and running.

Elizabeth PurcellElizabeth Purcell

Elizabeth Purcell coordinates the Well-Being department’s communication and marketing efforts and supports our Well-Being initiatives throughout the system. Elizabeth started her career at the American Hospital Association in Washington, DC and transitioned to the Chicago headquarters working as a project manager for the executive vice president. Elizabeth then moved to Northwestern Memorial Foundation, working as the associate director of individual giving for the hospital. Elizabeth joined Hartford HealthCare in 2013, starting her career in human resources and later supporting the Well-Being department. Elizabeth has a strong sense of community and has created and led many successful community outreach projects in the District of Columbia, Chicago, and Connecticut. She earned a bachelor’s of science degree from the University of Maryland, majoring in sociology and minoring in behavioral social science. Elizabeth is passionate about all aspects of Yoga and completed her 200-hour Yoga Teacher certification. She has two sons, loves her family and friends, and has a passion for personal growth, creativity, and exploring the road less traveled.
